Letters, letters, always letters

Love letters by a poet

This may be called my writing journal, but with a slightly different twist than most others. I will mostly, perhaps solely, be writing love letters, inspired by the film Possession and the love affair carried on in that movie through letters. I will not be writing to any real person, but will address my letters to an imaginary lover(used in the old sense of suitor and one who loves, not necessarily a person whom one has sex with).I am a poet in my spare time, and this will come out in the letters(I hope, at least!)So, if you want to occasionally read love letters and get a sense of what love and passion used to be in the old times, this is where you can find them. As I said, so far this is a closed community so only I will be posting. This may change later on, but for now, I welcome only comments.

"My letters! all dead paper, mute and white!
And yet they seem alive and quivering
Against my tremulous hands which loose the string
And let them drop down on my knee to-night.
This said,--he wished to have me in his sight
Once, as a friend: this fixed a day in spring
To come and touch my hand . . . a simple thing,
Yet I wept for it!--this . . . the paper's light . . .
Said, Dear I love thee; and I sank and quailed
As if God's future thundered on my past.
This said, I am thine--and so its ink has paled
With lying at my heart that beat too fast.
And this . . . O Love, thy words have ill availed
If, what this said, I dared repeat at last!
